Wild West Relay 2026

The race.

The Wild West Relay is a 200-mile overnight relay race taking place July 31–August 1, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado. The course spans 36 legs and runs from the Fort Collins foothills through the Rocky Mountains over two mountain passes, finishing in Steamboat Springs. Teams consist of twelve runners with two vehicles, six runners with one vehicle, or other configurations including solo participants. Team Captains register first and establish team credentials, then share login information with teammates who join at no additional cost. Each team supplies either two volunteers (for 12-person teams) or one volunteer (for Ultra and High School teams) to staff runner exchanges, or alternatively makes a tax-deductible donation to Windsor Gives, a nonprofit organization, to support volunteer recruitment for the event.
