About the race
The race.
The YMCA Freaky 5K & Mini Monster Dash takes place October 31, 2026, in Appleton, Wisconsin. The 5K run/walk starts at 8:30 AM from Pierce Park. All participants receive a finisher medal, chip timing, a t-shirt (if registered by October 13), and refreshments. A costume contest follows the race with awards in adult, group, and child categories. Awards are given to the top 3 overall finishers by gender and to winners in age groups ranging from 9 and under through 70 and older. Packet pickup is available Friday, October 24 at Appleton YMCA (3–5 PM) or Saturday, October 25 at Pierce Park (6:30–8:30 AM).
