YMCA of Middletown Kid's Triathlon 2026

The race.

The YMCA of Middletown Kid's Triathlon takes place August 8, 2026, in Walden, NY, with a rain date of August 22. Children ages 8–15 compete in eight waves with staggered check-in times starting at 9:30 AM. Each wave includes a swim, bike, and run segment with distances varying by age group: ages 8–9 swim 75 yards, bike approximately 2 miles, and run approximately 0.75 mile; ages 10–11 swim 100 yards, bike approximately 2.8 miles, and run approximately 1 mile; ages 12–13 swim 100 yards, bike approximately 3.6 miles, and run approximately 1 mile; ages 14–15 swim 200 yards, bike approximately 5 miles, and run approximately 1.5 miles. Registration costs $54 per child and closes August 5. All finishers receive medals. After the event, participants enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch and free swim access until 6:00 PM.
