Copying your setup from last year's event
Reusing a previous event's registration configuration, and the one thing you should not copy.
On this page 4
What does copying bring across?
Your registration configuration: ticket types, pricing tiers, participant questions, add-ons, waiver text, and included items. It is the hour of setup you did last year, not the entries themselves.
Pick the source event from the copy panel on your new event's registration setup. Only events in your own organization that already have ticket types are offered, so you cannot pull another organizer's configuration and you cannot copy from an event that was never set up.
What does it NOT bring across?
Anything tied to last year's running:
- Entries, athletes, and bib numbers.
- Photos, galleries, and photographer assignments.
- Promo code redemptions.
- Results.
Sponsors, coverage zones, and course files are set per event too. Copying is registration configuration only.
Should I copy the registration dates?
Usually not, and it is off by default for that reason. Copied dates are last year's dates, which are in the past, and an event whose registration window closed twelve months ago sells nothing while looking perfectly configured.
Turn it on only when you are deliberately copying a date shape you will edit immediately afterwards. If you do copy them, the setup asks you to confirm the dates before they take effect.
What should I check after copying?
Three things, in order:
- Prices. Last year's early bird is this year's mistake.
- Capacity. You may be planning a bigger or smaller field.
- Dates. Registration window, and the participant edit cutoff.
Then walk your own registration page as an athlete would. It is the fastest way to catch a stale year in a ticket name.
Copy your setup in your organization admin.
