About the race
The race.
The 2026 Fisherman's Picnic Trail Run takes place August 1st at Pincushion Mountain Trails, 2 miles north of Grand Marais off County Road 12. Four distances are offered: a 10K trail race, 5K run/walk, 1-mile run/walk, and 440-yard run/walk. Race packet pickup and bib collection begin at 8 a.m., with kids races starting at 9 a.m. and the 5K and 10K at 9:30 a.m. The 10K and 5K are chip-timed; all finishers receive unisex short-sleeve shirts. One aid station is provided at the approximate halfway point of the 10K course. All ages may enter the 10K and 5K; kids ages 7 and under may run the 440-yard distance, and those 12 and under may run the 1-mile distance. The event benefits the Pincushion Ski and Run Club.
