The race.
The 43rd Annual Black Bear Run takes place July 4, 2026, in Engadine, MI, offering four distances: 3.75 miles, 6K, 7.5 miles, and 12K. All events start at 8 a.m.; the 12K begins at Engadine High School, while 6K participants depart via bus from EHS at 7:30 a.m. The course combines pavement and gravel terrain through Hiawatha Sportsman's Club trails. On-site registration and packet pickup are available July 3 from 4–6 p.m. and July 4 from 6–7 a.m. at EHS. All participants receive an event t-shirt; entries postmarked after June 1st are not guaranteed shirts.
