About the race
The race.
The 4th Annual Shelter Friends 5K takes place on August 30, 2026, at North Lake Park in Mansfield, Ohio, with proceeds supporting the Richland County Dog Shelter. The 3.11-mile course starts at 10:30 a.m., with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Participants who register by August 14th receive a free t-shirt. First and second place awards are given in each of nine age groups ranging from 14 and under through 80 and over. The registration fee is $30.
