4TH BOARDWALK MILE OPEN WATER SWIM 2026

The race.

The 4th Boardwalk Mile Open Water Swim takes place on August 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Swimmers will complete a 1-mile ocean course starting from either Queen Street or Grenoble Street, with the exact location determined by current conditions and announced 12 hours prior via email and the Seashore Striders website. Check-in occurs at Grenoble/Henlopen Hotel. Registration costs $50 through August 16, $60 through August 29, or $70 on race day (6:30–7:30 a.m.). Packet pickup happens at Grenoble before the start. Finishers receive custom swag and awards; an awards ceremony follows within 20 minutes, with prizes for overall male and female champions, masters (40+), and top three finishers in eight age categories. Post-race refreshments are provided on the beach. Proceeds benefit the Tommy "TC" Coveleski Scholarship, awarded annually to a Rehoboth Beach lifeguard for educational purposes. A $5 bag drop service is available.
