About the race
The race.
This 2.6-mile one-way fun run takes place on July 4, 2026, in Monmouth, OR, starting near Monmouth City Park and finishing on Main Street in Independence. Participants line up by 11:15 a.m. with the race starting at 11:30 a.m. The course follows the Monmouth Independence 4th of July Parade route with a 47-foot elevation drop. Entry fees are $10 for ages 9 and under (until June 30) and $20–$30 for ages 10 and up, depending on registration date. Bib pickup occurs July 3 (noon–6 p.m. at Anytime Fitness, Independence) and July 4 (8–11:15 a.m. at Monmouth Fitness Club). All finishers receive medals, with age group winners announced online; ribbons are awarded to top finishers in each age group. Proceeds benefit local nonprofits and scholarships.
