The race.
The Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run takes place August 15, 2026, at Eagle Island State Park in Eagle, Idaho. Participants can choose from a 5K, 10K, or a signature Unknown Distance Run (between 400 meters and 50 kilometers, with final distance revealed at finish). A separate 5K is offered for youth 16 and under. The event honors military service members and first responders who gave their lives. Registration includes access to food, beverages, music, guest speakers, raffle items, and activities for children. Entry to Eagle Island State Park requires a $7 day-use fee or annual Idaho State Parks Pass ($10).
