About the race

The race.

The Angie Gioiosa Memorial 4th of July Race, hosted by Blair Regional YMCA on July 4, 2026, offers three distances: a 15K, a 5K, and a 2-mile walk, all starting in downtown Altoona at the Mishler Theatre. The 15K and 5K are certified courses that wind through the city and finish at Heritage Plaza; the 2-mile walk features varying grades. Online registration closes July 3 at 11 a.m., with day-of registration available from 6:30–7:30 a.m. The first 1,000 participants receive a t-shirt. Race packets are available for pickup July 3 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Mishler Theatre stage, or on race day from 6:30–7:30 a.m. Awards are presented immediately after all races, with recognition for overall top-three finishers and age-group winners across multiple categories. A kids' fun run for ages 6 and under with goodie bags follows the main races.
