The race.

The Big Dog Heatwave 5 Miler takes place on July 18, 2026, in Columbus, GA as a point-to-point 5-mile race starting at Lake Oliver Marina (5501 River Rd) and finishing at Big Dog Uptown on 11th Street. The race begins at 8:00 AM. Early-bird registration costs $30 through July 3, increasing to $40 from July 4–17, with no race-day registration available. Packet pickup occurs on Friday, July 17 from 12–6 PM at Big Dog Fleet Feet (12 W 11th Street); t-shirts are guaranteed for those registered by July 10 at noon. Awards are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall, 1st place masters, gender categories, and age groups (under 14, 15–19, 10-year increments through 70+). The race benefits Lifebridge Child Advocacy and is part of the CRR Summer Series.
