The race.
The Big Dog Howl 5K takes place on October 31, 2026, in Columbus, GA, with a start time of 8:00 AM. The 5K course can be viewed at mapmyrun.com/routes/view/6279386878/. Registration costs $30 through October 11th, $35 from October 12–24th, and $40 on race day. Packet pickup is available Friday, October 30th from 12–6 PM at Big Dog Fleet Feet (12 W 11th Street) and Saturday, October 31st from 6:45–7:45 AM. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall finishers in male and female categories, masters, under 14, ages 15–19, and 10-year age groups through 70+, plus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for best costumes. Finishers receive t-shirts; registration by October 23rd at noon guarantees a shirt. The race benefits Easter Seals.
