The race.

The Iron Horse 8k takes place on July 26, 2026, in Moosic, PA, as the second race in the Black Diamond Running Series. The event features a 5-mile distance and a 1.24-mile option on trail terrain at Montage Mountain. Registration and packet pickup run from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM on race day, with the race starting at 8:30 AM; registration costs $45. All registered participants receive free admission to Montage Mountain Waterpark (a $34.99 value) and can purchase additional waterpark tickets for $15 each. Prize money is awarded to top finishers in male and female categories: $300 for first place, $200 for second, $100 for third, $75 for fourth, and $50 for fifth, with an additional $100 prize for male and female masters (age 40+).
