The race.

The Byers Peak Stampede Half Marathon & 5K Run takes place August 22, 2026, in Fraser, CO, benefiting the Shining Stars Foundation. Runners can choose between a 13.1-mile half marathon starting at 8 AM or a 3-mile 5K starting at 9 AM, both on unpaved dirt roads and trails in the Rocky Mountains. The half marathon begins at approximately 8,700 feet elevation and climbs above 9,500 feet, with a time limit requiring runners to reach mile 9 by 10:30 AM. Both courses include aid stations with water, sports drinks, and fruit. Packet pickup occurs Friday, August 21, from 5–7 PM at Hideaway Park Brewery in Winter Park, or race morning at the start line. A virtual registration option is also available.
