About the race

The race.

The CandleLight 12/24 Hour race takes place in Rush, NY on July 18, 2026. The 24-hour race begins at 7 AM on Saturday, while both the 12-hour individual and 12-hour relay races start at 7 PM on Saturday, with all races closing at 7 AM on Sunday. The course is a 1-mile loop, mostly paved with approximately 150 yards of smooth wide trail, featuring a gradual downhill first half and gradual uphill second half. Participants in individual races run as many laps as desired within their time window with no minimum distance requirement; walking and rest breaks are permitted. Relay teams consist of two to four members who share a BIB belt as a baton and may exchange it according to their own rules. One fully stocked aid station serves the course, and runners may set up personal aid stations as well. Personalized bibs are available for $10 extra.
