Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster 5K Run/Walk 2026

The race.

The Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster 5K Run/Walk takes place on September 13, 2026, in Orland Park, Illinois. The 5K event supports senior athletic scholarships and equipment purchases for the Carl Sandburg High School Athletic Department. Packet pickup is available September 8–12 at The Human Race Sports (15148 LaGrange Road, Orland Park). Race day packet pickup details will be announced. Overall awards go to the top male and female finishers by gun time, while age group awards (top 3 males and females by net time) are given for categories spanning 10 & Under through 60 & Over. Participants select a school sports team to represent; teams compete for Coach Wish List funding ($500 for first place, $300 for second, $150 for third). Post-race activities include a prize drawing featuring local vendors and Sandburg merchandise.
