Chesapeake Bay Paddle - hosted by Kent Island Outrigger Canoe Club 2026

The race.

The Chesapeake Bay Paddle on July 25, 2026, in Chester, MD, offers four races hosted by Kent Island Outrigger Canoe Club with distances of 3, 10, 35, and 215 miles. All races start and finish at Kent Island Yacht Club. Event options include solo and team circumnavigation races for outrigger canoes, surfskis, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks, with the 35-mile outrigger canoe change race designated as an East Coast Outrigger Association event awarding double series points. Chase boat support is available for outrigger canoe teams at an additional fee. Post-race food, beverages, and entertainment will be provided at Kent Island Yacht Club. Registration deadline for race t-shirts is June 20; outrigger canoe team registration closes June 30. Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Conservancy, WaterKeepers Chesapeake, and Oyster Recovery Partnership, with 100 percent of registration fees tax-deductible as charitable donations.
