About the race
The race.
Christmas Classic 5K takes place December 19, 2026, at Oak Mountain State Park near Pelham, Alabama. The 5K course runs around Double Oak Lake. All participants must pay a $5 gate admission fee to Oak Mountain State Park. The first 200 registered participants receive custom Christmas Classic 5K swag. Post-race amenities include brunch and a reusable race cup. Participants can choose between two finish lines: a standard finish or the Polar Plunge (a $20 donation option benefiting the Alabama Wildlife Center). Awards are given for the tackiest sweater, and the race features an Alabama Wildlife Center predator flyover and animal encounters.
