About the race
The race.
The Coastal Edge ECSC 5K takes place on August 24, 2025, at 7:00 am on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk, starting at 2nd Street. The 5K course runs out-and-back along the boardwalk with a water station near the turnaround. All finishers receive a custom medal and commemorative t-shirt. Online registration costs $40 through August 16 at midnight, then $45 from August 17 onward. Packet pickup occurs Tuesday, August 19 from 5:30–7:00 pm at Coastal Edge, 316 21st Street, or race morning from 6:00–6:45 am at the start line. Race-day walk-up registration accepts cash or credit only.
