About the race
The race.
The Tacky Sweater 5K takes place December 5, 2026, in Norfolk, VA, with both a 5K run and 5K walk option. The course starts and finishes at Smartmouth Brewery in the Chelsea District, looping through West Ghent and Plum Point Park along the Elizabeth River Trail. All finishers receive a custom medal. Early packet pickup and race registration are available Friday, December 6th from 5–7 p.m. at Smartmouth Brewing Company (1309 Raleigh Ave). The event benefits EVMS Dermatology and the Dermatology Student Group. A post-race celebration at Smartmouth Brewery includes food, entertainment, beer, awards, giveaways, and a tacky sweater contest.
