Escape the Zom-Bites 5K takes place on August 16, 2026, in Edinburg, Texas. Participants can choose between a 3.1-mile distance or a 5K option that includes a medal and bib. The race features a zombie-themed format where runners begin with three lives and encounter designated Zombie Zones along the course; being tagged by a zombie results in a life being marked off on the bib. All finishers receive a custom race medal. Proceeds benefit Kidd, a one-year-old deaf boxer requiring hip dysplasia surgery.
