About the race

The race.

The Everest Challenge takes place at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado during May 2026. Participants log elevation gain through hiking or running to accumulate 29,032 feet of vertical—the elevation of Mount Everest. An optional bonus prize is available for those who also log 42.7 miles of total distance. All finishers receive a commemorative pint glass and sticker. Local meetup dates and locations will be provided to participants.
