Freeze Your Gizzard 5K and 1 Mile 2026

The race.

Freeze Your Gizzard 5K and 1 Mile takes place Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg, VA. The 5K begins at 9 AM and the 1-mile fun run at 10 AM, both starting and finishing at the gazebo. The 5K follows a cross-country course through the park's 138 acres; the 1-mile is also available. All 5K pre-registered runners receive a long-sleeve performance shirt, and 1-mile finishers receive a medal. Refreshments are provided after both races. Packet pickup occurs Thursday, November 19 (2–6 PM), Friday, November 20 (12–4 PM), and race day (7:30–9:30 AM). Awards go to the top three overall finishers in each gender and to first through third place in eight age categories for the 5K. Participants are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to Loudoun Hunger Relief.
