Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Rescue Run 2026

The race.

The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Rescue Run takes place on August 23, 2026, at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in Scranton, starting at 9:00 AM from the Olive Street Trailhead. Participants can choose from a 5K run ($30), 10K run ($35), or 2-mile fun walk ($30). Registration and packet pickup begin at 7:30 AM. All preregistered participants receive a Rescue Run T-shirt, with early registration (by August 16) guaranteed. Proceeds benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter to support food, medical care, and shelter for animals in need. Leashed dogs are permitted.
