About the race
The race.
The Healthy Kids Running Series Fall 2026 event in Lombard, IL on September 13, 2026 features 1-mile races for 4th and 5th graders and 6th to 8th graders. The five-week series includes race bibs each week, a runner shirt, and a finisher medal awarded in week 5. Overall trophies are given to top finishers in each grade division by gender. Online early bird registration opens three weeks before the first race; single-day registration opens one hour before each race at the venue. An adaptive Challenger Division offers a 75-yard race for children with disabilities or special needs, allowing parent and sibling support on the course.
