About the race

The race.

The Hero's Hill Challenge takes place March 21, 2026, at 8:00 AM on Johnson University Campus in Knoxville, Tennessee. Participants can choose from a 5K run, a 1-mile family walk/run, or the Hero's Challenge, which is available as an individual event or in 2-person, 3-person, and 4-person team formats. The Hero's Challenge requires participants to complete 1 mile of running, 140 burpees, 140 lunges, 140 squats, and another mile of running; team members may divide exercises as desired and tag between participants. The 5K awards overall and age group honors in 10-year increments. Proceeds support Operation Hero's Hill, which provides housing for unhoused veterans in the Knoxville community.
