The Hope Watermelon 5K is a 5-kilometer race hosted by the Melonvine Striders on August 8, 2026, in Hope, Arkansas. The USATF-certified course starts and finishes at Fair Park (1251 Park Drive) and features mostly flat terrain with winding turns through town streets including Park Drive, Elm Street, Main Street, 16th Street, Grady Street, and 7th Street. All participants receive a locally grown Hope watermelon. Awards are given three deep in age groups from 0–9 through 80 and over, plus separate categories for overall winners (Open, Masters, Grandmasters, Senior), walkers, and wheelchair competitors. High school teams compete with a requirement of five girls and/or five boys per team.
