The Indian River Kayak Bike Biathlon takes place Sunday, July 19, 2026, starting at 9 AM at DeVoe Beach in Indian River, Michigan. Participants complete 2.24 miles of kayaking on the Inland Waterway (Burt Lake and Indian River), then transition to 11.68 miles of biking on the North Central State Trail, a crushed limestone surface. The event is limited to 100 registered participants. Registration includes a free t-shirt, refreshments, and entry into prize drawings; wood plaques are awarded to top finishers in each age and gender category. Check-in opens at 8 AM, and the awards ceremony begins at 11 AM at DeVoe Beach. All proceeds support trail maintenance in Northern Michigan. Participants must bring their own bicycle, helmet, kayak, paddle, and Coast Guard-approved life jacket. Registration fees are $60 through May 31, $70 through June 30, $80 through July 19, and $90 on site if space permits; register by July 10 to guarantee a shirt.
