Intermediate Sailing: November 14/15 2026

The race.

Intermediate sailing instruction runs November 14–15, 2026, at Fiddler's Cove Marina in San Diego, CA. Classes meet 9 am to 4 pm each day and are open to eligible MWR patrons in categories including E1–E6, E7 and above, retirees, veterans, DoD employees, and sponsored civilian guests; participants must be at least 16 years old. Registration, which requires pre-enrollment and includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks, also requires proof of a valid California Boater Card or course completion certificate before the first class. Upon completion, participants receive a Navy Sailing Qualification Card. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are recommended.
