About the race

The race.

MTC Zilla Tri offers Sprint and Youth Short Sprint distances in Columbia, IL on July 12, 2026, starting at Bolm-Schuhkraft Park. The Sprint distance includes a 300-meter pool swim, 11.2-mile bike course, and 5K run, open to ages 14 and up. The Youth Short Sprint features a 200-meter pool swim, 6-mile bike course, and 2-mile run for ages 10–17. Both courses include mostly flat roads with one hill and a railroad crossing. Packet pickup occurs Saturday, August 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and race morning from 5:30–6:45 a.m. Register by July 1 to guarantee a t-shirt; online registration closes August 1 at noon. Top finishers in each age division receive awards at ceremonies following their respective races. USAT membership or a one-day pass is required.
