The race.

The NJ Trail Series SOMO Winter 2 takes place December 5, 2026, at South Mountain Reservation in South Orange, NJ. Runners choose between three distances—5K, 10K, or half marathon—all on a looped course combining fire roads, single-track trail, hills, and pavement. The 5K completes one loop, the 10K two loops, and the 13.1-mile race four loops. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 3 miles. Race start times are 9:00 AM for the half marathon, 9:30 AM for the 10K, and 10:00 AM for the 5K. Race day registration opens at 8:00 AM. Finishers receive a giveaway; there are no finishing medals. Registration is available online in advance or on race day, with multiple payment options including cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal.
