The Pennsylvania Heroes for History 5K is a virtual event held on July 1, 2026, in support of the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation. Participants complete a 5K on their own schedule at a location of their choice, which may include one of several suggested Pennsylvania historic sites such as Bushy Run Battlefield, Daniel Boone Homestead, Eckley Miners' Village, Graeme Park, PA Lumber Museum, PA Military Museum, or Washington Crossing Historic Park. All participants are welcome, and the event accepts individual runners, walkers, families, and pets. Participants are encouraged to photograph themselves at a historic marker and share images on social media using #PHFHistoryForHeroes5K or email them to c-jododson@pa.gov. The virtual format allows participants to support Pennsylvania history throughout the Commonwealth during America's 250th anniversary celebration.
