About the race

The race.

The Portland Bridge Swim is an 11-mile open water swim on July 12, 2026, starting at Sellwood Riverfront Park and finishing at Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon. The course follows the east side of the Willamette River and passes under all 12 of Portland's bridges. The swim begins at 7:20 am with a 3:00 pm cutoff time; expected water temperature is 66–74°F. Participants must be at least 18 years old and must have completed a minimum 5,000-meter pool swim faster than 1:40 within three years of race day. All swimmers must wear a safety tow buoy and assigned latex cap throughout the event. Entry is limited to 100 swimmers with a registration deadline of 4:59 pm Pacific time on July 5, 2026; late and day-of entries are not accepted.
