The race.
The Purple Heart Day Virtual Race 2026 takes place in August from McDonough, GA, with participants able to complete their chosen distance anytime during the month from any location worldwide. Race options include 5K and 10K distances, with participants able to run, walk, or hike on roads, trails, treadmills, or tracks. Medals featuring a Purple Heart-inspired design will begin shipping July 1, 2026. Fifteen percent of all registration fees will be donated to a charity supporting veterans, service members, and their families.
