About the race

The race.

The RTC Open Water Swim takes place Monday, May 4, 2026, in Midlothian, VA at Robious Landing. Swimmers choose between a 1-mile or 1500-yard distance, with all participants launching at 6:05 p.m. from the dock. Arrival by 5:45 p.m. is required for the safety briefing and check-in. Swim buoys and bright swim caps are mandatory; a limited number are available to borrow. Volunteers are needed as kayakers (bring your own kayak or use RTC-provided equipment) and swim lead coordinators. Registration closes at 3 p.m. on the day of the event; participants must be at least 18 years old. All swimmers must sign out after completing their swim.
