The race.

Shark Week Showdown takes place July 25, 2026, at Stewart Beach in Galveston, Texas. Runners can choose from five distances: a 50-meter Kids Dash, 1-mile, 5K (3.11 miles), 10K (6.22 miles), or 9.33-mile option. The Kids Dash starts at 6:55 AM, with the main race starting at 7:00 AM following the National Anthem. Packet pickup runs from 5:30 to 6:40 AM. All finishers in the 1-mile, 5K, and 10K receive race t-shirts and finisher medals, with aid stations positioned along the course. The 5K and 10K are chip-timed with age-group awards across 14 divisions, plus overall male and female awards and Masters (40+) recognition. Post-race amenities include music at the finish line and treats for participants.
