About the race
The race.
The Spartan Sprint 5K & Family Fun Run takes place on September 20, 2026, at Elgin Community College Campus in Elgin, IL. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with the 5K race starting at 10:00 a.m. Registration is $25 for ages 11 and older, $15 for children aged 5–10, and free for children under 4. All registrants receive a commemorative Spartan Sprint T-shirt. The event welcomes ECC students, alumni, employees, and community members of all fitness levels. Proceeds benefit the Elgin Community College Foundation's scholarships and student programs. After the race, participants are invited to the Welcome Home Spartan Family Picnic.
