Swing the Gates 5k and 10k 2026

The race.

Swing the Gates returns on October 31, 2026, in Oak Harbor, WA, at Deception Pass State Park, offering a 5K Fun Run and a 10K Team Scavenger Hunt. The 5K starts at 9:00 AM on primarily paved surfaces with 400 feet of elevation gain, welcoming strollers, children, and dogs; the 10K begins at 8:00 AM as a team event run on unpaved trails with approximately 1,200 feet of elevation gain and varies by team navigation ability. Both races close at 11:00 AM. Participants must bring their own water bottles or cups at the aid station. Entry fees are $30 for the 5K and $120 per team for the 10K, with team members beyond the first registrant joining free. Top three finishers in each 5K category and the first-place 10K team receive prizes. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for parking.
