The Des Moines Turkey Trot 2026

The race.

The Des Moines Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa. Participants can choose from a 3.1-mile distance or a 5-mile route. Both courses begin at the Des Moines Courthouse in the Court Avenue Entertainment District and traverse downtown Des Moines, crossing the Des Moines River and passing through the Historic East Village. The 5-mile route includes an additional loop around the State Capitol Complex and concludes at the Botanical Center before returning via the Women's Achievement Bridge. Challenge box options and group flocks of 4 or 5 participants are available.
