About the race
The race.
The Rising takes place on October 31, 2026, in Oviedo, FL, starting at 7:30 a.m. from First United Methodist Church's Historic Sanctuary. Runners can choose 5K or 10K distances on an out-and-back course along the Cross Seminole Trail, with a kids' fun run under one mile on a canopied road. Cash awards go to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, with additional finisher awards and age group prizes given in five-year increments. Proceeds support local charities including HopeHelps, Inc. and The Oviedo Preservation Project, and schools can compete as teams for grants. The event uses compostable cups, on-site recycling, and reusable race packets.
