About the race
The race.
The Turkey 2 Miler takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Smith River Sports Complex in Axton, VA. The 2-mile course loops the sports complex and follows the Dick & Willie Trail along Smith River. Packet pickup is available November 25 from noon to 6 p.m. at the YMCA. Participants may choose between a competitive run/ruck or a non-competitive walk. Run and ruck registrants receive an official race shirt; runners earn awards for top-three finishers overall by gender and within five-year age groups starting at 9 and under, while ruckers receive top-three awards by gender provided by All Vets Ruckers. Walk participants do not receive a shirt or qualify for awards.
