What connecting does

Your account can link to Strava. Once it is linked we can suggest races based on the training you already do, and we can point you at official results that look like they belong to you.

Open your connections settings and use Connect with Strava. You can disconnect from the same place at any time.

How a result hint works

On your races page you may see a hint next to an official result. We only raise one when two separate signals agree: the name on your connected Strava profile lines up with the name on the result, and you have an activity from the same day. One signal on its own is not enough, because a name match alone catches every runner who shares your name.

A hint is a suggestion and nothing more. It does not verify you, claim the result, or attach anything to your public profile. You confirm it is you with the selfie check, and until you do that nothing changes on your account.

Why you might not see any hints

Three reasons cover almost all of it:

  • Your Strava profile did not give us a name, so there is nothing to compare. Reconnect Strava to refresh it.
  • We have not imported an activity from you yet, so there is no same-day evidence to pair with a result.
  • Nothing lined up. Your name and a same-day activity have to match the same result, and often they do not.

What we do with your Strava data

Your connected Strava name and activity data are used to help you find your own official results, and not for anything else. Disconnecting removes the stored connection data. The Strava name we captured is included in your data export, so you can see exactly what we hold.

Face matching stays the more reliable route to your photos either way. See How face matching works.
