What a saved search is
A saved search is a set of Discover filters kept under a name, so the search you built once comes back in one tap. If you always look for half marathons within 50 miles, that is a saved search.
Saving a search alone does not subscribe you to email. You can separately choose saved-search race alerts in your notification settings.
Saving one
Build the search first: set your place, radius, dates, sport, and distance until the results look right. Then use Save this search in the Saved row above the results.
The name is filled in from the filters you used, so a search is recognisable without you typing anything.
Using and removing them
Your saved searches sit as pills in the Saved row. Tap one to reapply it, which takes you back to those results. The × on a pill removes it.
You can keep up to eight, whether you are signed in or browsing as a guest. Saving a ninth different search is refused with a message; remove one before saving another. Saving an existing search again updates it without using another slot.
Signing in
Saved searches work either way, but they are stored differently.
Signed out, they live in this browser only. They are not on your phone if you saved them on your laptop, and clearing your browser's site data loses them.
Signed in, they are stored on your account and follow you to any device you sign in on.
These two sets are separate. Searches you saved as a guest stay in that browser and are not copied onto your account when you sign in, so if you want to keep one, sign in and save it again.
Optional race-alert emails
Sign in and open Notifications. In your athlete preferences, turn on Saved-search race alerts, then use Saved search alerts to choose Monthly or Weekly. If you have not already consented to weekly alerts, use the separate consent checkbox and Switch to weekly confirmation; saving a search or having an existing monthly preference does not opt you into weekly email.
Only saved searches from the Races tab feed these emails. Saved All and Activities views still reopen your filters but do not feed race alerts. Weekly emails consider newly listed matching races since the last email; an empty set does not guarantee a message every week.
You can pause or resume each saved race search independently without deleting it, or turn off Saved-search race alerts to stop the emails. Delivery also depends on active email consent and notification preferences. For other message types, see Notifications.
If the row says saved searches are unavailable
That is a temporary fault on our side, not something wrong with your account. Your saved searches are not lost. The filters still work normally in the meantime, so you can carry on searching and save again later.
