Understanding feature availability for your event
How to tell whether a PodiumBase capability is available, activation-assisted, or in limited release for your event.

Why availability differs by event
PodiumBase can run around an external registration provider or provide additional workflows for an activated event. Some capabilities work for every organizer, some require event configuration, and some are still being released to a smaller set of eligible events.
The capability page uses three customer-facing availability descriptions:
- Available: you can use the capability when its normal prerequisites are met.
- Activation-assisted: the workflow exists, but PodiumBase confirms the fit or configures the event with you.
- Limited release: the capability is enabled only for an eligible event or rollout group. Do not advertise it until it is visible and confirmed for your event.
Check a capability before publishing it
- Open the race-director capabilities page.
- Find the job your team is trying to complete.
- Read the availability line on that capability.
- Open your event in organization admin and confirm the corresponding control is visible.
- If the page says activation-assisted or limited release, confirm the event with PodiumBase before adding the feature to registration copy, sponsor terms, athlete email, or race-day instructions.
Examples that require particular care include native registration, live results, registration financial reporting, and public finisher lists. Availability for one event does not automatically enable the same capability for every event in the organization.
If the control is not visible
Do not rebuild the event or promise the feature based on a marketing-page screenshot. The usual reasons are:
- the event uses an external-provider mode that does not support that workflow;
- an activation step is incomplete;
- the event is outside the current rollout;
- a required setup item, such as a roster or confirmed photographer, is missing;
- your organization role does not have access to the control.
Continue using the supported external or manual workflow until eligibility is confirmed.
Ask for an availability review
Use Help in PodiumBase or contact support. Include the organization, event, capability you want to use, current registration or timing provider, and the date you need to announce it. Do not include athlete personal data in the request.
PodiumBase will confirm whether the feature is available now, needs activation, or should stay out of the event plan.
