Understanding feature availability for your event

How to confirm a capability is on for your event before you put it in registration copy, sponsor terms, or athlete email.

Why availability differs by event

PodiumBase can run around an external registration provider or provide additional workflows for an activated event. Most capabilities work for every organizer once their normal prerequisites are met, some are configured with you during activation, and a small number are still being released.

The capabilities page lists what PodiumBase does and who each capability is for. It lists only capabilities that are live — anything not yet released is left off the page rather than shown with a caveat, so its presence there is the availability signal.

Check a capability before publishing it

  1. Open the race-director capabilities page and find the job your team is trying to complete.
  2. If the capability is not listed, it is not released. Ask us rather than planning around it.
  3. Open your event in organization admin and confirm the corresponding control is actually visible for that event.
  4. If the control is not there, ask about activation before adding the feature to registration copy, sponsor terms, athlete email, or race-day instructions.

Step 3 is the one that matters. A capability being live for PodiumBase does not mean it is configured for your event, and availability for one event does not automatically enable it for every event in the organization.

Capabilities that most often need a conversation first: live results, the V2 registration financial summary, public finisher lists, funded photographer assignments, and cross-event selfie discovery.

If the control is not visible

Do not rebuild the event or promise the feature based on a marketing-page screenshot. The usual reasons are:

  • the event uses an external-provider mode that does not support that workflow;
  • an activation step is incomplete;
  • the event is outside the current rollout;
  • a required setup item, such as a roster or confirmed photographer, is missing;
  • your organization role does not have access to the control.

Continue using the supported external or manual workflow until eligibility is confirmed.

Ask for an availability review

Use Help in PodiumBase or contact support. Include the organization, event, capability you want to use, current registration or timing provider, and the date you need to announce it. Do not include athlete personal data in the request.

PodiumBase will confirm whether the feature is available now, needs activation, or should stay out of the event plan.
