Availability: Live results are limited release and event-specific. Importing finish times after a race does not mean live results are enabled during the event.

Live results and results imports are different

Results imports accept a supported timing export or provider sync so PodiumBase can connect finish time and place to athletes, photos, and certificates. They can happen after the race.

Live results require a confirmed event-specific feed and production setup while the race is running. PodiumBase is not the timing system, and check-in availability does not prove that a live timing feed is available.

Confirm live results before advertising them

  1. Open the event in your organization admin.
  2. Open the results or finish-times area and identify the event's timing source.
  3. Confirm that the live-results control and source status are visible for this event.
  4. Complete the test or validation shown for the source.
  5. Verify the public results destination with a non-production or approved test result before linking athletes to it.

Only describe results as live after the event-specific source and public destination have both been confirmed.

If live results are not available

Keep the timer's official results link as the live destination, then import the final supported results into PodiumBase after the event. Athletes can still receive matched photos and certificates after the final import and lock process.

Do not label an automatically refreshed spreadsheet, check-in count, or photo gallery as live results. Those surfaces answer different questions.

Troubleshooting

  • The live-results control is missing: the event is not enabled or your role cannot access it.
  • The source is connected but rows are not changing: use the source status and last-update time; do not repeatedly create a second source.
  • Bib rows do not match athletes: correct the roster or bib assignment before treating the public view as complete.
  • The public destination is unavailable: link to the timer's official results until PodiumBase confirms recovery.

Use Help in PodiumBase or contact support with the event, timing provider, expected start time, and the status shown in the results area. Do not send full roster exports through a public support form.

For post-race files, see importing your finish times.
