Calumet Park Light the Darkness 5K run 2026

Calumet Park Cemetery's 9th Annual Light the Darkness 5K is a walk/run event benefiting suicide prevention. The event takes place on September 19, 2026, at 2305 West 73rd Avenue in Merrillville, Indiana. Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m., with the race starting at 8:00 a.m. Pre-registration costs $25, while race-day registration is $30. Awards are given to overall top male and female finishers, top finishers in the 40-and-over categories, top three finishers in each of 18 age groups ranging from 8 and under through 80 and older, and top Clydesdale (men 210+ lbs) and Athena (women 170+ lbs) participants.
