About the race

The race.

The Central Illinois Open Water Swim takes place June 28, 2026, at Evergreen Lake in Hudson, Illinois. Two distances are offered: a 2.4-mile wave starting at 9:00 a.m. and a 1.2-mile wave starting at 9:10 a.m., both with in-water starts on a triangular buoy-marked course. Registration and body marking open at 7:00 a.m., with a mandatory pre-race briefing at 8:35 a.m. and check-in closing at 8:30 a.m. The event is hosted by Central Illinois Masters Swim Team, Inc., a non-profit organization. Current USMS membership and a photo ID are required for participation; swimmers must be at least 18 years old. Event-supplied swim caps and body marking numbers are mandatory for safety.
