About the race

The race.

The Cross Country Team Challenge takes place July 21, 2026, at Richmond Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Teams of 5–7 runners compete in a chip-timed 5K cross country race featuring mowed grass, packed dirt, and gravel terrain; only the top 5 finishers per team count toward team scoring. A free, untimed 1-mile community run opens the event. Bib pickup begins at 5 p.m., the 1-mile run starts at 6 p.m., and the 5K race begins at 6:30 p.m., with awards at 7:30 p.m. Individual runners, incomplete teams, and solo participants are welcome. Awards include $20 Gazelle Sports gift cards for top individual finishers and $15 cards for each team member on winning teams across multiple categories including coed, masters, and spirited team divisions.
