EmpoweRun / Walk 5K 2026

The race.

The EmpoweRun / Walk 5K takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville, IL, with a 9:00 AM start time. Participants can run or walk the 5K on a USATF certified course with chip timing and age group results. The first 500 registrants receive a t-shirt and swag bag; later registrations may not include these items. Overall winners are determined by gun time, with awards presented around 10:00–10:15 AM. Packet pickup is available at multiple locations April 27–29 or on race day starting at 7:30 AM. Registration fees range from $15–$45 depending on date and age. All funds support A Safe Place, which provides services to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.
